By becoming a Centre of Expertise: we are bringing Indigenous knowledge and values to the forefront of environmental decision-making

We are a collaboration of the q̓ic̓əy̓ , qʼʷa:n̓ƛʼən̓, kʷikʷəƛ̓əm, xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, səlilwətaɬ, and sc̓əwaθən məsteyəx First Nations. Together, we advance the interest of six hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓-speaking First Nations to protect, preserve, and restore the Lower Fraser River and Burrard Inlet.

Recent Projects

We are on a journey to develop a Centre of Expertise to protect and preserve the lands, waters and resources within the Traditional Territories of the six First Nations. Our projects support environmental restoration and sustainability in the Lower Fraser and Burrard Inlet by bringing Indigenous Knowledge to the forefront of decision-making.

Partnerships

Our effective collaboration with government, academia, private, and non-profit sectors is critical as we work to protect and preserve aquatic resources for future generations.  The First Nation Fisheries Council of BC is a key partner and provides crucial operational support.
